On 05 June 2026, the world will celebrate World Environment Day under the theme “Climate Action”, hosted by Azerbaijan (Baku). This is a powerful reminder that responding to climate change is not only the responsibility of individual countries, but also an urgent requirement for every industry, especially logistics – a sector closely linked to global transport and warehousing.

At Vantage Logistics, climate action is seen as an integral part of our ESG strategy, aimed at reducing emissions, optimizing operations and building sustainable supply chains.

Logistics and emissions pressure: A problem to solve

Logistics activities play an essential role in trade, but they also create significant environmental pressure:
  • Freight transport accounts for around 8–10% of global CO₂ emissions.
  • Non‑optimised transport routes lead to fuel waste.
  • High empty‑container ratios reduce asset utilisation.
  • Warehousing systems consume large amounts of energy for storage and operations.

From commitment to action: Vantage Logistics’ solutions

Vantage Logistics is implementing solutions to green customers’ supply chains through five key pillars:
  • Route optimisation: Reducing unnecessary distances, limiting empty runs and improving fuel efficiency.
  • Maximising load factor: Consolidating cargo to increase container utilisation and reduce the number of trips for the same cargo volume.
  • Mode shift in transport: Prioritising the use of sea and rail, instead of road or air where appropriate, to cut emissions per unit of cargo.
  • Smart warehousing: Using energy‑efficient lighting systems and warehouse layout planning to reduce energy consumption.
  • Data‑driven management: Monitoring route performance, load factors and fuel consumption to enable continuous adjustment and improvement.
Vantage Logistics calls on our valued partners and customers to join hands in building a more circular supply chain, so that every operational decision taken today contributes to protecting ecosystems for future generations.
